A Desire to Create explored how creativity can become a part of learning and development in schools.
I conducted design-research in an educational environment, and devised and implemented a learning course in collaboration and with the assistance of teachers at Børne UNI in Vesterbro in Copenhagen, Denmark. The subject was ‘Sexuality: yesterday, today & tomorrow’ and the 8th grade students produced creative work in response to the knowledge gained in the class and from an excursion to a local museum.
A Desire to Create was my final thesis project for the Co-design MA course at KADK, but the insights and conclusions I drew from the experience were also made accessible to the teachers. The final outcome I created was an interactive e-resource for teachers and education professionals.
